Job Summary:
The Senior Pastor is called to serve both the congregation and the wider community. This role provides spiritual leadership through preaching, teaching, and pastoral care, while also overseeing staff and supporting the overall ministry of the church.
Responsibilities include developing and communicating the church’s vision, leading worship services, and administering the sacraments, including weddings, baptisms, and communion. The Senior Pastor is expected to foster spiritual growth, guide the congregation in faith and mission, and represent the church within the community.

About the Role
FBCOP is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Pastor to lead our congregation and staff. The Senior Pastor position will partner with the Executive Pastor to accomplish the Mission and Vision of the church.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Pastor will focus on the following four key areas:
Spiritual Leadership
● Preaching and Teaching: Deliver sermons, teach scripture, and lead Bible studies to guide the congregation spiritually.
● Worship Leadership: Take a leadership role in worship services, including prayer, greetings, and planning excellent worship experiences.
Community & Outreach
● Ceremonial Duties: Officiate at weddings, funerals, child dedications, baptisms, and other important religious ceremonies.
● Community Outreach: Organize and participate in community outreach programs and mission efforts.
● Evangelism and Discipleship: Train members in evangelism, ethics, and discipleship to fulfill Christ's mission.
Professional Development
● Conflict Resolution: Provide pastoral care and conflict resolution within the congregation.
● Networking: Cooperate with church leadership, such as deacons and trustees, to meet the needs of the congregation and manage operations effectively.
General
● Required to work evenings for team meetings and during holidays for worship services.
Education:
● 4-Year Degree in Theology Required
Qualifications and Competencies
● Hold a Theological degree.
● Comfortable with shared leadership responsibilities.
● Ability to engage with a racially and ethnically diverse congregation.
● Proficient in delivering sound Bible-based preaching, teaching, and pastoral care.
● Capable of making difficult decisions.
● Transparent in communications with the congregation.
