Our Community Partnerships

With Jesus Christ as our guide, our mission is to glorify God and expand the kingdom by following in Christ’s footsteps and inviting others to join us on the journey. One of the ways we strive to fulfill this mission by serving the under resourced members of our community.

We serve lunches to Housing Forward patrons once a month and send monthly contributions to Beyond Hunger, Lawndale Christian Health Center, and Circle Urban Ministries. We have also conducted non-food drive for Housing Forward patrons and a back-to-school supplies drive for the children of Circle Urban Ministries. Last year, we brought the joy of the holiday season by hosting a Christmas party for the Circle Urban Ministries kids and sending gifts for young mothers at New Moms.

This is a picture of our congregants at Greater Chicago Food Depository where we helped to prepare food items to be distributed to non-profit organizations in the Chicagoland area.

Beyond Hunger

We support Beyond Hunger, formerly known as Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry.

In addition, FBCOP participates in a Non-Food Drive every year. We collect toiletries, cosmetics, and personal hygiene items (such as shampoo, shaving cream, razors, toilet paper, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, socks, and detergent) to distribute to organizations that minister to people in need.

Circle Urban Ministries - Austin Neighborhood

Circle Urban Ministries is a Community Development non-profit organization working toward the day people in underserved communities have a safe and healthy place to live, learn and play. It's teen ministry includes partnering with local schools and running an after-school program. The outreach department provides resources to the Austin community through food pantry services, employment services, homelessness help, resume workshops, drug rehab resources, and other activities. We are monthly partners with Circle Urban Ministries, organized a Back to School supplies drive, and a hosted a Christmas program for their after-school children.
